5 How to Draw NZ Birds

Children Work from mounted models or projected images. They learn to look for and capture the distinguishing features of specific species. Children use sketching pencils and develop bold sketches with strong elements of light and shade.

“Great resources, projected image, large sketch and a real ‘Pukeko’ made the students’ drawings more informative, precise and real. Loved the commentary, great hints and measurement tips.” (Y5-6) Fiona Fuiava, Kelston Primary.

“Excellent theme (NZ Birds). Great pace, children were motivated and produced artwork that was wonderful – they surprised themselves! (Y4-5) Linda George, Alfriston Primary.
