7 Sports Figures in Action

Children work from models and/or projected images. They start with a stick figure, learn about basic figure proportions, are introduced to ways of conveying movement and begin to think about dynamic balance. Children use sketching pencils and are shown how to achieve crisp, bold drawings.

“Students produced some wonderful sketches, they surprised themselves, and me! I also joined in on the session and was able to use the teaching points in later lessons”

“Children were impressed with how well they learned to draw a picture by copying a photograph. They realised how geometrical drawing can be and how to judge the page before you start drawing. They enjoyed the helpful hints and still talk about the tricks they learned.” (Y3-6) Maungawhau School.
